[note: date change to April 6th]

When asked the name of my rally — having just announced that I would sponsor one and having no idea as to what, where, or when it was going to be — I simply replied “off the cuff”! Considering this later, a quick search on the internet yielded the following:

The term was first found in print sometime around 1936 and usually refers to the practice (used by actors or speakers) of jotting notes on the cuff of their shirt to help remember lines or talking points. The Cambridge Dictionary defines the phrase as “Saying something without having thought about your words first”. WELL…!

That being the case, the rally will remain the Off the Cuff Drive. We will meet at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 6 [note: date change!] At this point, all I can say is that the starting point will be the parking lot in front of the Stulz Center at Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) off Route 20-South (exit 121 from I-64) in Charlottesville. From Route 20-South (Scottsville Road), take the first right onto College Drive, and then an immediate right into the parking lot in front of the Stulz Center. The ending point will be a nice restaurant within 20 miles of the starting point. In between start (A) and end (Z) will be a lovely drive over scenic winding roads that are perfect for a fun outing in our LBCs.
